A Great Turn Out!
A big THANKS to all who came out for our annual Christmas Dinner! We had lots of great food and good fellowship! We even had lots of help with clean up! What a relief!! If you couldn't make it, we're sorry we missed you!! Here are some pictures from the night!

The Scarlet Cord T-Shirt Contest!!!
We're asking YOU to create the next logo to go on The Scarlet Cord T-shirt coming in 2009!!
We will accept most types of media (as long as it will be able to be scanned in to a computer and converted for printing).
Options are: pen, pencil, paint, chalk, or computer generated images.
We will not accept any images that have been previously copyrighted. Please come up with your own original design.
Guidelines:
No copyright images
No offensive language
No satanic, cult, etc. symbols
One person per entry
The words “The Scarlet Cord” must be incorporated into the design
Entries will be judged by The Scarlet Cord's Board of Directors.
Deadline is TBA! So get your creative minds cranking!

Correction/Update

This Saturday, Nov. 8th, The Scarlet Cord is once again hosting Canadian Christian Hair Band, BLISSED! Some of you may remember the group who was the back bone of the Christian Music Scene in the 80's and early 90's... "Stryper". If you liked Stryper, you can't go wrong with Blissed! Heck, the band was originally formed by former Stryper members! So put on those leather pants... and if you're lacking in the hair department... grab that 80's wig and head on over this Saturday to JAM! Check them out HERE!
Also playing is a group hailing from the Philadelphia/Reading area... BOP! You can check them out and read their Bio (what is that name all about!?)... HERE!

Reuben... What is He Dippity Doin'?
If you have never had the chance of catching Christian Hip Hop Artist "John Reuben" in concert... you MUST check him out! He was just at The Scarlet Cord this past weekend... so if you live in the Western PA area... unfortunately, you JUST missed him! You will want to check out his website and myspace to keep posted on his schedule. We will DEFINITELY let you know when he is coming back to Western PA! He is definitely one act you don't want to miss! If you've never heard of him - check him out! When some people think "hip hop", they think... Gangster Rap or music and words that you just can't understand or keep up with! John Reuben is none of that! He has such character and funk... with lyrics you can sing along to! People of all ages enjoy his music and ministry! We were glad to have him back and look forward to next time!
