Operation Starvation
Back in November we had the pleasure of meeting Brandt Russo. He came to The Cord to present his film "Adopt A Jesus". If you missed it, we really encourage you to check it out and see what it's all about! Brandt has a heart for those less fortunate... and he is yet again pulling out all of the stops for a great cause. Please visit this blog to learn about his newest mission: Operation Starvation. He is helping to raise money and awareness about starving children... but don't take our word for it. Look into it and pray about it. See if it is something you feel led to support.
Blessings!

WHAT YOUR KIDS DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW!
I don't have a fancy poster to upload or anything... they are all being distributed around town and such... but please... JOIN US! This Saturday, April 4th at 8:30AM!! "The Drug Culture: WHAT YOUR KIDS DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW!" The Scarlet Cord, along with the local Ministerial Board, YMCA, School and churches are sponsoring this seminar to help make you aware of the drug scene infiltrating our local communities and schools! Local man, Brian Stoesz (specializes in the drug awareness field) will be the speaker... we will have a free continental breakfast, free child care (at the YMCA--please bring your kid(s) to the Cord and we'll make one big trip over) and there will be an intermission--all to end before or around noon!
I know this is a very informal posting... I do not have the information right in front of me... but wanted to make you all aware that this is a very good opportunity to see whats going on! There are a lot of things we are oblivious to that go on right under our noses! We owe it to our kids!
Again, we open at 8:30 for the small breakfast and fellowship... and will then begin the seminar around 9AM! Please bring your spouse, friends, etc! This is important information!!
Thanks--Devon

Join The Scarlet Cord Street Team!!
Do you want to be able to see your favorite Christian bands without having to drive hours away and pay for outrageous ticket prices?? Do you want to be able to earn "rewards" for posting online fliers and getting the word out about our upcoming shows?? If so, The Scarlet Cord Street Team is for you!!
The Street Team is a way to help advertise for upcoming shows and/or events that are being held at The Scarlet Cord. When you sign up, you will receive emails with ways that you can help. Points will be tallied for each "order" you complete (an "order" being a specific instruction by our Street Team coordinators as to how many fliers you must post, etc). You must email proof that you've completed the orders and once it's validated you will be sent an approval email and a running total of points you've earned. Points may be redeemed for any of the rewards, which will be communicated to you by our Street Team coordinators. You're allowed to do as many or as little orders as you want. The biggest benefit of being on The Team is having your voice heard! If you want to help The Scarlet Cord bring in the music that YOU want to hear, then join The Team! Email streetteam@thescarletcord.org to join.

What's Coming Up!
Jan 31st - Outrun The Gun, Deception of a Ghost and Neocracy
**UPDATE: Settle The Sky will not be appearing on this tour!**
Outrun The Gun is a huge buzz band, having recently completed many successful tours and riding the wave of the group's Torque debut, "Rooms", which sees distribution by Victory. Their progressive hardcore sound also includes blending sing-along-chorus with brutal breakdowns. Outrun is from Canton, OH and is shooting a video for their single "A Normal Feeling" in November. Give them a listen at www.myspace.com/outrunthegun
Deception of a Ghost is a band freshly signed to Joel Colins' Forsaken Recordings and has gained considerate online interest in the band's debut EP and engaging myspace page. They boast literally thousands of plays a day and are one of the labels top up-and-comers, and the glow has not faded they find themselves excited to be playing to their fan base for the first time. Their sound is akin to the aforementioned acts, hardcore that blends in vocals to get the crowd singing along. Hailing from Hickory, North Carolina the band has played and opened for many nationals all along the NC, OH, SC, WV areas. Be sure to look at their unique page at www.myspace.com/deceptionofaghost
Neocracy is Brookville's own!! www.myspace.com/neocracy
Also Coming Up:
Feb 14 - My Heart 2 Fear and Athirst
Feb 28 - Coriolis (Goth/Industrial) & Neocracy
If you aren't our friend on MySpace yet... check us out!!
